This is a chip from a block of Colorado yule marble, backlit to show its translucency. I'll be using this stone for sculpting a unicorn commission from a client who has patiently waited quite a long time, and even assisted in getting my ripped-apart studio back together so that I could get to work on it. Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 9:50 PM Well, the warrior prince climbed the precipice to reach the treasure, but when he pulls himself to the top of the last peak and thinks he's now within reach of safety and treasure, he comes eye-to-eye with the guardian dragon.
So the question is, exhausted, clinging precariously to the edge of a drop into a deep chasm, faced with overwhelming superiority in strength, speed, and perhaps wisdom, what will he do? What will the dragon do?

Sorry for so many links, but I'm pround of Em and happy for her. She's a very big fan of MCR and had been making her vids of the band just for the love of it. And it's turned out they really enjoyed what she's done. I thank them for recognizing her talent, and crediting her for it.

Winter has been mild here so far, but I know in some areas storm horses have come galloping in, snow flying from their streamimg manes. So here is a frosty snow horse, quietly enjoying the aftermath of his wild arrival.

Here is Stormy Nightfall as she has further evolved. I have much more to do on her still. I will try to post again soon.
This shot was blurred but I put it up because it looks like she's in the middle of creating a light storm.
Someone who has seen a photo of her while she was still blue and serene suggested a title of Lady of the Heavens, which I liked very much. I do intend to go back and do a peaceful Nightfall, and I think I'll use that title -- thanks Russ.
Friday, January 14, 2011 at 3:35 PM Hello everyone. I'd planned Nightfall to be peaceful and serene, but starting her in a storm had it's effect. And then I began doing her hair on solstice night during the full moon eclipse. So... she just wanted to become something else, and I have to rename her Storm. Here are a few picures of her as she is now.
Monday, December 13, 2010 at 1:20 AM For the start of this voyage across the worldwide waves I would like to just say hello and share one of the pieces I’m working on now.
I call her Nightfall. I meant her to be very peaceful, but she was started during a hurricane-force windstorm and took in a little of its wildness.
She is a mixed media sculpture including polymer clay – a fortuitous and inspiring discovery that allows me to sculpt even while my studio stands ripped apart for an indeterminate amount of time and blocks of wood and stone sit waiting for incredibly patient clients.
